Veruca Salt announce additional Australian tour dates

Within eight hours of the date being announced, newly reformed Chicago alt rock band Veruca Salt sold out their gig at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne. With their Sydney gig at The Factory now also an official sellout the band have just announced additional shows for each city.

A second show has now been added for the Corner Hotel on September 30 and the additional Sydney date is set for October 2. The new dates do mean that the date for the show at The Rosemont in Perth has now been changed to October 4. You can check out the newly revised Veruca Salt touring schedule below.

The tour will mark the first time that the original lineup of Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack have played live together since 1998, when Gordon departed the band for a solo career, to be followed by Shapiro and Lack shortly afterwards.

Although Post continued performing with a new band under the Veruca Salt name until 2012, the return of the original lineup was officially announced last year on the band's Facebook page. The promise of new music made at the time of that post, which stated that "for now let's just say this: hatchets buried, axes exhumed', was fulfilled a few weeks ago on Record Store Day with the release of It’s Holy and The Museum of Broken Relationships.
